Job Overview
At TE Connectivity, our R&D and Product Development Engineering teams transform innovative ideas into industry-leading products. We are seeking an experienced Staff Thermal Simulation Engineer to provide technical leadership in the development of high-performance electronic products from concept through manufacturing. In this role, you will be responsible for thermal management and CFD simulation of connectors, cable assemblies, external & internal antennas used in Edge AI & IoT applications. Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership for thermal, electro-thermal, and CFD simulation across the product development lifecycle, defining methodologies, assumptions, acceptance criteria and verification strategies. Lead complex steady-state, transient and multiphysics analyses involving Joule heating, conduction, convection, radiation, and conjugate heat transfer to support product design decisions. Drive design optimization through DoE, sensitivity studies, and correlation with physical testing, identifying critical parameters, risks, and robust design solutions. Develop and drive thermal simulation methodologies, engineering standards, best practices, automation tools, and reusable workflows to improve capability, consistency, and engineering efficiency across global product platforms. Drive thermal architecture decisions, technology roadmaps and risk mitigation strategies for new products and emerging technologies. Provide technical leadership for concept development, DFMEA, design reviews, qualification activities, root-cause investigations, and cross-functional engineering decision-making. Mentor engineers, conduct technical reviews, and lead global thermal/CFD initiatives while fostering capability development and knowledge sharing across the organization. Candidate Desired Profile:
M.Tech. in Thermal Engineering or a related discipline with 10+ years of relevant experience, or Ph.D. in Thermal Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline with 6+ years of relevant experience. Demonstrated expertise in thermal management, electro-thermal analysis, and CFD simulation for complex electro-mechanical products, including multiphysics modeling and simulation-to-test correlation.
