Software Engineer Intern, Dealer Talos is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join our Dealer team for the Summer 2027. This intern will work on a critical project related to our high-performance trading systems, contributing to tools that support trading decision-making and performance evaluation. Success in this role will involve designing and building components that enhance our algorithmic capabilities while adding new features to existing infrastructure. This is a 12-week internship running from June 1, 2027 to August 27, 2027 About Dealer: The Dealer platform provides trading, liquidity management, risk controls, and post-trade infrastructure that enables broker-dealers to service institutional clients across multiple venues. This includes order routing, market data aggregation, credit and risk management, position management, and settlement workflows. Want to learn more about Talos’s engineering culture? Check out Sonic, our first open-source project which allows Talos to achieve microsecond network stack latency in Go: https://github.com/talostrading/sonic Responsibilities Collaborate with the Trading team to define project scope, requirements, and milestones Prepare design documentation and actively participate in architectural discussions with team members Build features in Go to enhance Talos's Order Management System (OMS), which is responsible for making all trading related decisions for orders submitted into Talos to ensure best execution Add analytics and metrics to measure impact of your changes while incorporating feedback and iterating based on team input Demonstrate project progress through regular demos Qualifications Class of 2028 pursuing a degree in Computer Science or related field Proficiency in at least one compiled language (e.g., Go, C++, Java) At least one previous internship involving working on backend systems in a production environment, preferably in a user-facing context Knowledge of relational databases (e.g Postgres) Past experience with trading systems is a plus Detail-oriented, self driven, analytical, and enthusiastic about working on impactful projects Strong communication skills, with an ability to convey technical concepts clearly Ability to work autonomously as well as a part of a collaborative team environment Energetic, creative, and a self-starter who can manage tasks autonomously Local to NYC HQ Learn More About Talos Check out these videos and links to learn more about Talos and our culture!
