JOB DESCRIPTION
KDFW FOX 4—the ratings leader in the #4 media market in the nation—is moving into a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility. To ensure flawless continuous operations during this transition, we are seeking a detailed-oriented and agile Temporary Master Control Technician for an 8-week assignment. If you bring proven experience in master control automation, transmission operations, and signal ingest in a high-volume broadcast environment, join our crew for this landmark shift in North Texas television. The Responsibilities Master Control & Automation: Execute day-to-day Master Control operations, running MC automation software, graphics playback systems, and on-air switching with absolute precision. Transmission Operations (TOC): Oversee transmission platforms, utilizing IP video and satellite platforms for feed acquisition, routing, and distribution. Ingest & Content Management: Process, ingest, and verify incoming news and syndicated programming content for air. Compliance & Logging: Maintain accurate documentation of transmitter logs, FCC requirements, and Emergency Alert System (EAS) tests. Operational Adaptability: Multi-task seamlessly across simultaneous technical systems under tight deadlines in a top-tier market station. Key Requirements Education & Experience: 2-year technical or Radio-Television-Film (RTF) degree preferred (equivalent professional experience actively considered). Industry Background: 1 year of experience as a Master Control Technician, Production/ Operations Technician, or Transmission Technicain strongly preferred. Systems Knowledge: Proficiency with master control automation, IP/satellite transmission platforms, current operating systems, iNews, and industry broadcast software applications. Professional Attributes: Strong multi-tasker, clear communicator, effective team player, and able to maintain a calm demeanor under live-air pressure. Availability: Must be flexible to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as operational demands require.
