Responsible for ensuring timely issue identification and resolution, including formulating written responses to grievances in compliance with regulatory requirements. With Directors, coordinates the review process for all grievances, concurrent and retrospective. Refers identified concerns to the appropriate leaders timely and appropriately, tracks to ensure loop closure. Maintains the tracking and trending systems in electronic database for all Southwest Healthcare System (SWHS) complaints and grievances. Provides an analysis of complaints/grievances to the Patient Experience Committee for review and action planning as warranted Serves as a Risk Management representative to the Patient Experience Committee meeting, completes Agendas, Minutes, and Reports as assigned by the Chair. Identifies system related problems, via patient/visitor data analysis, and works collaboratively with physicians, administrators and staff to resolve. Ensures that reports forward through the hospital’s quality oversight structure to the Board of Governors. Make regular rounds, communicating with patients and staff regarding needs and expectations Qualifications MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE Ø Minimum five (5) years’ experience in an acute hospital. Ø Minimum three (3) years’ experience in healthcare risk/quality/medical staff fields or related experience Ø Must have knowledge of current principles of risk management, patient safety and service excellence. Ø Must have the ability to perform duties independently and accurately, including compiling and maintaining complex data and producing timely reports and updates. Ø Must have the ability to handle multiple complex tasks with a high level of flexibility and with exceptional time management skills, and the ability to represent the department with professional appearance and demeanor. Ø Recent experience with audits, chart reviews, clinical management, risk management investigations, and report writing is strongly preferred. MINIMUM
