The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.
The impact you’ll make
As a Product Manager 2 within the Spares organization, you will support the management of Lam's spares portfolio supporting products which are End of manufacturing. You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to drive Engineering projects, resolving customer escalations, sustaining product install base and ensure timely support for field failures. What you’ll do
Utilize Product Lifecycle (PLC) mapping and analytical tools to identify and execute programs required to manage the spares portfolio. Analyze, prioritize, and disposition Obsolescence Problem Reports (OBPRs). Plan, coordinate, and resolve component obsolescence issues with suppliers and OEM partners. Drive engineering projects to address obsolescence gaps impacting sustaining products. Analyze part forecasts, historical consumption, and manufacturing demand to determine spare part requirements for new and existing product lines. Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and Spares Analysts to support business objectives. Facilitate and execute Last Time Buy (LTB) and Bridge Buy (BB) strategies. Support customer communications, manufacturing teams, and field service organizations regarding obsolescence and product changes. Contribute to achieving operational performance metrics, including lead time reduction, cost optimization, and on-time delivery targets. Support senior Product Managers in strategic portfolio planning and lifecycle management initiatives. Who we’re looking for
Understanding of Product Lifecycle Management processes and obsolescence management. Ability to perform part and assembly impact analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to evaluate business cases and financial impacts. Experience managing stakeholders across global teams. Knowledge of Engineering Change Management, Product Structuring, and Configuration Management. Ability to understand component attributes and system-level product interactions. Strong verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills. Working knowledge of SAP R/3 or equivalent ERP systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Preferred qualifications
Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience. Experience in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Product Configuration, or Engineering Change Management. Experience working in manufacturing, supply chain, product management, semiconductor, or related technical environments.Experience in OEM component selection and qualification. Understanding of financial concepts such as Gross Margin and Return on Investment (ROI). Exposure to Quick Base development or administration. Project Management experience. Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, material planning, and production control processes. Strong technical aptitude with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams (Mechanical, Electrical, RF, Materials Science, etc.).
