Assesses, monitors, and maintains imaging staff internal quality assurance measures for assigned modality at all KSC imaging locations. Able to work individually on a team or project teams and can multi-task. Under general direction, formulates/defines scope and objectives Quality and Compliance programs. May be responsible for completion of a phase of a project or responsible for leading and completing a project. Maintain required records for regulatory and accrediting bodies as assigned by Medical Imaging Quality and Compliance Manager. Regularly provides guidance and training during NEO and beyond as needed. Works with business owners, physicians, clinicians, stakeholders, and IT personnel to assess and develop best practice models. Provide weekly status updates on project(s) progress. Position will require travel to KSC clinic locations for implementation, training and support. Other duties as assigned.
Primary Responsibilities
Image Quality: Evaluates imaging services and technical quality assurance measures for applicable sites to monitor performance of studies in keeping with policies, procedures, and protocols. Understands and applies technical principles affecting optimal production of images, as well as anatomical orientation, and anomalies affecting proper imaging techniques. Ability to mentor and coach staff related to ongoing quality and compliance support as requested by management, in addition to providing problem resolution, questions and answer services. Documents variances, equipment malfunctions, and artifacts; reports to Medical Imaging Quality & Compliance Manager and applicable Medical Imaging Leadership Federal/State Compliance: Works closely with Medical Imaging Leadership, staff, and lead physician(s) to assist all sites with accreditation by obtaining signatures, submission of application, and all tasks associated with the accreditation process. Gathers and maintains continuing education records for radiologists as it pertains to modality specific accreditation requirements in areas of responsibilities. Serves as a resource to Medical Imaging Leadership with all new clinic openings with equipment set up and any additional facility support as needed. Responsible for identifying, obtaining, and maintaining all records for TDH and FDA regarding applicable personnel or equipment changes. Serves as or assists the RSO/MRSO with radiation exposure monitoring and associate record-keeping. Works with medical physicists to ensure Kelsey-Seybold functions within the recommended guidelines. Remains current on recommended and best practice radiation safety protocols and programs, updates and assists with creation of training materials for review by MIQCM. Corrects errors and is responsible for maintaining the integrity of data/images sent to PACS by staff. Logs, tracks, and trends staff and system errors for review by MIQCM Project Management: Able to define, lead and conduct projects as assigned in accordance with standard KSC project management processes and documentation standards. Provide consultation for imaging program design, testing, and documentation with imaging teams. Maintain complete and up to date documentation for all assigned projects.
