Maintenance Technician

Eaton’s ES GDCO DIT division is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join the Worcester, MA team! The hourly rate for this position is $27.00 per hour. Overview: 
 Perform a variety of duties to maintain the general plant, building, machines and grounds. Make simple repair or replacement parts, making use of machine tools and other tools of the trade. Perform a variety of facility cleaning functions such as sweeping, wiping spills and general upkeep of plant. Monitor equipment conditions and perform basic preventative maintenance. Checks completed parts to ensure compliance to Worcester Plant Quality standards and makes necessary adjustments when required in order to meet quality goals. Adheres to all environmental, health, safety rules and regulations, and work instructions.     In this function you will:  •    Maintain equipment and perform housekeeping duties as necessary using the principles of 5S. •    Assist team in achieving plant and department goals. •    Assist with on-the-job training and continuous improvement.  •    Fosters an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork. •    Perform other related duties as assigned. •    Knowledge of fall protection and working at heights requirements Qualifications: 
 Required:   •    Minimum of 5 years working experience in Maintenance role in a manufacturing environment. •    High School Diploma or equivelant from an accredited institution. •    No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered.  Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. •    Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.  Preferred:  •    1 year or more of manufacturing systems experience (KANBAN, JIT, Production scheduling). •    1 year or more of experience in MIG Welding. Skills: 
 Position Criteria:  •    Working knowledge of the mechanical, electrical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility. •    Ability to read hydraulic schematics. •    Ability to use small power tools, such as drills, drill presses, and band saw.  •    Basic computer knowledge of Windows based operating systems and programs. •    Ability to use measuring tape, and variable gauges, such as calipers. •    Ability to read and understand formal, informal drawings, and/or engineering drawings. •    Knowledge of basic shop math. •    Ability to read and follow standard work. •    Ability to use good judgment and problem-solving skills to make informed decisions. •    Must be able to communicate effectively across all levels. •    Must be able to lift parts up to 35 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.  We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
