Job Description
Senior Technician will be responsible for supporting product development projects relating to the strategic plan of Protective Care Business Unit. The work involves the use of polyurethane systems and alternate experimental technologies. Pay: $37.00 Shift: Morning The job responsibilities are Conducts hands-on work required for the advancement of developmental products from concept to commercialization to include the following using defined procedures: - Reactivity of polyurethane chemistry - Physical property testing to determine density, compressive strength etc. - Transmitted shock testing to determine cushioning performance - Machine evaluations to determine the optimum set-points across multiple equipment platforms - Additional laboratory techniques as required to expand our expertise Maintain a clean, safe work environment, report problems and/or problem areas to supervision. Understands chemistry, chemical reactions & supporting analytical and instrumental methods and applies information to aid in the product development process. Works with sales, account representatives, and package design personnel as needed to address customer needs and requirements for Instapak® products. Represents the Global Innovation and Development as a team member for joint projects involving Systems Engineering, Supply Chain, or other Sealed Air product development projects. May require travel up to 10% for activities such as field trials, customer and supplier visits; attending meetings, trainings, conferences, etc. Qualifications
Chemistry graduate. 0-3 years experience working in chemical laboratory environment, preferable dealing with polyurethane chemistry. Strong attention to detail. Possess good mechanical aptitude, math and basic computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and work well in a team dynamic environment.
