Senior QA Automation Engineer - Charles River Development, hybrid, Assistant Vice President

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the Charles River platform. Working within a Scrum team, you will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and business analysts to build scalable automation solutions that support rapid and reliable software delivery. You will design and implement automated test frameworks, expand test coverage across the platform, and contribute to continuous integration and delivery pipelines. In addition to building automation, you will help drive quality best practices and improve the testing infrastructure used across teams. This is a hybrid role which requires at least 3 days of work from the office per week.

Minimum 6+ years of experience in software testing within a process-driven technology environment. Strong programming expertise in at least one modern object-oriented programming language such as Java, C#, JavaScript, or Python. Hands-on experience in front-end testing using industry-standard tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or similar frameworks. Experience in back-end/API testing, including REST APIs, HTTP, and SOAP services. Solid understanding of databases with practical SQL experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.

Proven ability to translate business requirements into comprehensive functional and technical test plans. Experience designing and implementing automation tests for web application/ desktop applications Hands-on experience developing and executing automation test scripts across web, desktop/native applications, APIs, and batch processes. Experience creating and maintaining test cases, scripts, and automated testing tools to validate requirements across multi-tier applications. Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, k6, Gatling, or similar. Experience maintaining manual and automated test libraries covering functional, integration, regression, and performance testing. Familiarity with shell scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash Education: B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics or other technical course of study or Business with an MIS background.
