Job Title: Plant Mechanic II (or) Plant Mechanic I Grade: Technical 41 (or) Technical 38 Job Code: 127959 (or) 127958 JOB SUMMARY

** This job is being posted across two skill levels. Applicants will be considered for the higher of the two levels in which they qualify. ** Installs, repairs, inspects, overhauls, troubleshoots, and performs maintenance to power plant equipment and systems at a Journey level. Maintenance tasks include but are not limited to: pipefitting, welding, millwright and machining. Performs millwright or mechanical duties with pumps, electric motors, air compressors, valves, welding, fabrication, construction, pipefittings, etc. LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

Performs responsibilities with standardized processes. Works under general supervision. Resolves routine questions and problems using basic principles of field. Refers the more complex issues to higher levels. Generally follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job. Some latitude for deviation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Repairs, inspects and maintains boiler and boiler auxiliaries, turbine/generator and turbine/generator auxiliaries, and maintains coal handling equipment and auxiliaries, if applicable. Performs equipment alignment. Performs necessary pipefitting related maintenance. Operates various industrial equipment (i.e. forklift). Performs necessary welding related maintenance. Performs general craft tasks and uses power and hand tools. Reads and interprets complex drawings and prints. Operates various machine shop equipment. Works with other craft and plant personnel as required. Complies with all safety and regulatory requirements, both internal and external. Utilizes SAP/PM system for equipment history and verification of work performed. Continually develops knowledge and understanding of plant principles and processes. Continually seeks process improvement to save cost and increase efficiency. Assists in member development. Flag for review and update bills of materials and task lists on an as needed basis. All other duties as assigned.

Level I

Associate's Degree in a mechanical discipline; Or High School Diploma/GED And 1 year experience in a mechanical field, Or A certificate of completion from a vocational trade institution in a mechanical field, Or Prior military service for at least one enlistment as documented on DD Form 214.

Level II

Associate's Degree in a mechanical discipline, And 1 year experience in a mechanical field; Or High School Diploma/GED And 3 years experience in a mechanical field; Or Prior military experience for at least one enlistment as documented on DD Form 214, And 2 years experience in a mechanical field. A certificate of completion from a vocational trade institution in a mechanical field is equivalent to 1 year of mechanical experience. Experience must include 1 year experience in a power plant or other process controlled environment including oil/gas/chemical refining and/or processing or manufacturing. WORKING CONDITIONS

May be required to work overtime and weekends and holidays. May be required to work non-standard work schedules to include on-call and call-outs. May require travel. May be required to work at heights up to and exceeding thirty (30) feet, underground and in confined spaces. May be exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather. Required to work in a multi-craft crew including Mechanics, Electricians, Insulators, Instrument & Control Technicians, etc. who work together to support operations of the plant. May be required to cross-train in various crafts and operation department at various times of the year. PHYSICAL DEMANDS - LIFTING AND OTHER WEIGHT REQMTS
