About this role
Subsidiary Steel Dynamics Overview Provide mechanical engineering support to the Rolling Mill. Responsibilities Candidate must be willing and able to:
Research and analyze vendor proposals for design or application feasibility Coordinate maintenance and repair activities to obtain optimal equipment utilization Evaluate and recommend design modifications to eliminate equipment malfunctions, improve equipment reliability and efficiency. Create and assist in preventive maintenance standards & solutions. Perform long-term maintenance planning, purchase spare parts and analyze spare part requirements Assist with difficult troubleshooting and recurring problems on mechanical systems, hydraulic, pneumatic, heat transfer, and combustion. Lead with various trade & contractors coordinating projects Lead installation and modification of new and existing equipment
Develop equipment lockout/tagout procedures, continue to improve safety. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required. Previous industrial experience desirable (3 to 5 years) Must be knowledgeable with office applications software, AutoCAD, office, Inventor/3D Excellent verbal and communication skills, analytical reasoning ability and good judgement for critical operating decisions, keen attention to detail, ability to cooperate and interpersonal skills to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
