About Sunrun & The Role Help launch Sunrun’s brand-new St. Louis branch! As America’s #1 home solar and battery company, we are seeking an experienced Non-Certified Electrician to join our team starting now! As a key member of our launch team, you will spend your first few months gaining hands-on leadership experience alongside our established Chicago team before permanently running installation crews out of our new St. Louis branch when doors open in early 2027. Through our Power+ program , we invest heavily in your skills and career development, offering cross-training across solar, battery, and service operations to build long-term job security. Travel & Perks Package While supporting operations in Chicago during the pre-launch phase, Sunrun covers 100% of your travel overhead: Rotation Schedule: 2 weeks on-site in Chicago, followed by 4 full days off at home in St. Louis. Company Vehicle: Dedicated company vehicle provided for travel and work use. Paid Travel Time: Full hourly compensation for time spent traveling between St. Louis and Chicago. Lodging & Meal Allowance: 100% company-paid hotel accommodations plus daily per diem.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Installation & Interconnection: Lead or assist in the installation of electrical systems interconnecting residential solar arrays and battery storage systems to the power grid. Service & Troubleshooting: Perform Main Panel Upgrades (MPUs), troubleshoot system issues, resolve electrical problems, and assist with necessary repairs or commissioning. Crew Support & Leadership: Support the PV installation crew on-site and step up to lead the crew when the Foreperson is absent. Code & Safety Compliance: Ensure work meets high workmanship standards, complies with current NEC and local codes, and strictly adheres to OSHA safety standards and Sunrun practices. Inspections & Communication: Coordinate with local inspectors as assigned, and work closely with homeowners and branch teams to deliver a top-tier customer experience.
Qualifications
Education & Apprenticeship Hours: High school diploma or equivalent. Must possess 75% of the hours required to sit for state-specific electrical certification exams (Certified Electrical Trainee preferred or required depending on state regulations) . Electrical Experience: Hands-on electrical installation and repair experience, including work with wiring up to 600 VDC / 480 VAC. Working knowledge of replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels preferred. Technical & Code Proficiency: Working knowledge of NEC codes, ability to interpret single-line drawings/PV system schematics from roof to meter, and solid understanding of solar interconnection principles and basic construction. Driver Requirements: Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (ability to pass a driving background check). Soft Skills & Ownership: Strong troubleshooting and
