About this role
What is Sylvera anyway? βπ©βπ¨π³ Sylvera helps organisations make confident decisions in carbon and commodity markets. We independently assess the quality of carbon projects, track market pricing and supply signals, and provide geospatial and carbon intensity data β giving our clients the clarity they need to invest in real climate action. We're a team of 130+ scientists, engineers, and market experts based across London, New York, SΓ£o Paulo, Singapore, and Tokyo. Our work spans market intelligence, geospatial analytics, multi-scale lidar research, and policy analysis. We partner with governments and policymakers to raise the bar for transparency and rigour across carbon markets. Backed by over $96 million from investors including Fidelity, Balderton Capital, Index Ventures, and Insight Partners, we're trusted by Fortune 500 companies, major financial institutions, and governments worldwide. If you care about climate, enjoy solving hard problems, and want to work with people who take the mission seriously β we'd love to hear from you. What will I be doing? ββπ©βπ»π¨βπ» Weβre looking for a mission-driven, highly-motivated paralegal to join our Legal function and bring rigour and pace to our commercial contracting and legal operations, reporting directly to the Head of Legal. This is a 6 month fixed-term contract, with the possibility to convert to a permanent, full-time role. Specific responsibilities will include: Supporting the Sales team with drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts and NDAs against our playbooks, escalating issues where required. Helping to build and maintain our internal templates and playbooks, including using AI tooling to speed up routine work and improve internal processes. Supporting teams across the business with customer procurement and vendor/supplier contracting, and working with the InfoSec team on vendor security reviews (e.g. ISO 27001 alignment and security addenda). Supporting with corporate matters such as entity incorporation, filings and regulatory compliance. Support production teams with reviewing third party data sources and data licensing. Supporting the People and Legal team with data protection and privacy matters such as GDPR queries, DPA review and data-consent drafting, and business as usual employment matters. Weβre looking for someone who: π§ π Has commercial-contracts exposure in an in-house setting; a background supporting a fast-moving B2B SaaS or technology business is a plus. Has sound contractual judgement and is able to read a contract, apply a playbook, and reliably distinguish acceptable changes from points that need escalation. Has strong drafting and attention to detail, with the discipline to produce clean, error-free documents and spot inconsistencies. Is highly organised and process-driven, capable of maintaining trackers, filing documents and ensuring nothing slips through the cracks. Is a confident, clear communicator who can liaise directly with sales, customers and external counsel, and explain process and standard positions to non-lawyers. Is comfortable with legal and business tooling, ideally including DocuSign, Salesforce, Notion and Google Workspace, and is comfortable using AI tools (e.g. Claude) to self-serve and speed up routine work. Cares deeply about the climate and ecosystems of the earth Is a self-starter who thrives in constantly evolving environments, ideally with early-stage experience Weβd like someone highly ambitious, motivated and eager to propel their career forward. We prioritise grit, positivity, and the willingness to get stuck in, and encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't exactly match this job description. Location π London, Old Street.
