What will you do as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Sealed Air?
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will provide technical leadership in the design, development, testing, and commercialization of industrial food packaging equipment and automation solutions. You will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Solutions Center, Sales, Marketing, and other cross-functional partners to take equipment concepts from initial design through manufacturing, testing, installation, and commercialization. This role requires strong mechanical design expertise, hands-on problem solving, and the ability to independently drive technical decisions and project deliverables while mentoring engineers, designers, and technicians. Why do we need you?
Lead the conceptualization, mechanical design, development, and improvement of industrial food packaging equipment and automation solutions. Own technical deliverables throughout the equipment development lifecycle, including concept development, design, manufacturing, testing, installation, and commercialization. Analyze mechanical systems and develop practical, innovative solutions to complex technical challenges. Develop and execute equipment testing, validation, and training activities to support successful commercialization, reliability, and customer performance. Lead technical project plans, manage risks and dependencies, meet key deliverables, and communicate project health to internal and external stakeholders. Troubleshoot complex equipment issues in manufacturing and customer environments and drive effective corrective actions. Develop CAD drawing packages, manuals, and other technical documentation required to support equipment solutions. Identify opportunities to improve existing equipment through design changes, technology upgrades, and reliability improvements. Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to associate and early-career engineers, designers, and technicians. Ensure equipment designs comply with applicable safety and hygienic design standards. What skills will help you succeed?
