Responsibilities
The Unit Coordinator assists nursing staff and provides administrative duties necessary to support nursing and patient care on assigned units including but not limited to monitoring and ordering of supplies and equipment, organizing and monitoring cleanliness of nursing station and patient areas, chart maintenance and filing, patient scheduling, and answering and responding to unit telephone calls. Perform duties of MHT IV and serves as a role model/mentor for new staff to observe how to effectively manage the milieu, provide quality care and provide a safe/ structured environment. Assists Milieu Manager in providing milieu and clinical supervision and training to all Mental Health Technicians and facilitates interviewing of MHT applicants, performance evaluation, and personnel counseling as needed. Participates in weekend on-call rotation to ensure that staffing ratio requirements are continually maintained. Is available to arrive at the facility within thirty (30) minutes if called for an emergency situation or urgent issue during the on-call period. Participates in chart audit and restraint reduction initiatives. Provides direct care and supervision for patients/residents. Assures patients/residents are kept safe, learn and practice appropriate hygiene and self-help skills, socially effective values, attitudes, and behaviors, and are aware of rules and expectations. Acts as a role model for patients/residents, demonstrating effective problem solving and decision-making skills. Assists in providing recreational and therapeutic activities for the residents, transporting residents to and from medical appointments, and assuring scheduled programming is carried out. Ensures environment remains safe and normative culture remains positive throughout facility. Contributes to formulation, implementation and revision of the patients/resident individual treatment plan. Performs duties as assigned by the direct care management team in accordance with the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care, and facility mission, values, policies, and behavioral standards. Minimum Candidate Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field required Must be at least 21 years of age Successfully complete a drug test Successfully pass a national background check Must possess valid Drivers License Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital (a UHS facility) Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital provides inpatient and residential treatment services for youth ages 5-17, as well as inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient services for adults ages 18+.
