About this role
Amazon is seeking a Principal Product Manager-Technical to own the product strategy and roadmap for next-generation autonomous delivery capabilities within its Last Mile network. This role sits at the intersection of autonomy, vehicle systems, simulation, safety, and delivery operations and will define the end-to-end product required to progress from R&D through deployment at scale. The Principal PM-T will serve as the horizontal product leader across internal teams and external partners. The role will define the Operational Design Domain (ODD) and capability roadmap, establish requirements for Last Mile integration, and align product workstreams into a coherent autonomous delivery solution. Safety will be a foundational input, with the role translating safety and validation requirements into product priorities and deployment criteria. Key job responsibilities Product Strategy and Roadmap: Own the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for autonomous delivery, from R&D through deployment at scale. ODD and Capability Planning: Define the operating conditions, delivery use cases, autonomy capabilities, and deployment sequence required to expand the product over time. Last Mile Integration: Establish the end-to-end requirements for integrating autonomous vehicles into Amazon’s delivery stations, fleet operations, route execution, and package delivery workflows. Product Alignment: Align roadmaps, requirements, interfaces, and priorities across Amazon teams and external partners. End-to-End Product Leadership: Provide product direction across vehicle integration, autonomy, simulation, fleet management, remote assistance, and operational support. Product Tradeoffs: Drive decisions across customer experience, autonomy performance, operational complexity, safety, cost, schedule, and scalability. Safety and Deployment Readiness: Partner with safety and engineering teams to translate safety requirements, validation evidence, and applicable autonomous vehicle safety frameworks into product priorities and launch criteria. Performance and Validation: Define success metrics and use simulation, testing, field data, and operational results to guide product and deployment decisions. Executive Alignment: Communicate product strategy, key decisions, risks, and investment recommendations to Amazon senior leaders and external partner executives.
