About the Role
Grade Level (for internal use): 12 The Team: The Process Economics Program (PEP) develops conceptual designs and costs for processes used in the chemical and energy industries. You will be part of a global team. Fast-paced and able to deliver important content and analytics to our readers regarding new and existing processes/technologies. Responsibilities and Impact: Research and evaluate emerging and established chemical technologies. Conduct techno-economic assessments to determine the performance, competitiveness, and commercial viability of various processes. Develop and deliver technical reports, reviews, and analyses that support program objectives and client commitments. Identify and propose new research topics and strategic opportunities to support the growth and direction of the program. Contribute to cross-functional initiatives and special projects as required. Engage with clients to understand their needs, communicate technical insights, and strengthen client relationships. What We’re Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications: An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 15 years of relevant experience in industrial organic chemistry research , technology evaluation , and authoring technical publications/reports . Extensive experience in industrial organic chemistry research, including publications and/or technology evaluation roles Strong technical writing and presentation skills (e.g., authoring reports, presenting findings to internal/external stakeholders) Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment Relevant technical background in Industrial Chemistry and/or Chemical Engineering (demonstrated through professional experience and/or academic training) Additional Preferred Qualifications: Experience performing process economic evaluations Experience with process simulators such as AspenTech, Promax, HYSYS, etc., or with general tools for generating heat and mass balances. Demonstrated experience that indicates the ability to quickly learn, summarize, and utilize extremely complex information from various sources, including patents Highly proficient use of internet search engines and other online technical databases for patent and literature searches is required Notes to applicants: All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
