Position
Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations systematically, collectively monitor the battle, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations, both globally and regionally, to improve performance. C2BMC is essential for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of missile defense systems. The candidate will join the C2BMC Planner Team within the Regional Applications Agile Release Train (ART). Their role involves defining and managing the implementation of the software architecture for a Java-based missile defense command-and-control planner system, ensuring it adheres to the C2BMC program's architectural principles. They will also provide direct technical support to the Chief Engineer, Chief Architect, and the Planner Client team, while coordinating with various engineering disciplines, including Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Integration & Test, and Operations & Sustainment. Essential Functions: Conduct trade studies and analyses for ongoing and upcoming C2BMC development efforts Keep the software architecture artifacts for the Planner team Oversee the development and implementation of the Planner software's design Determine the ramifications and impacts of proposed architectural changes to the software baselines Analyze system performance by quantifying performance, identifying bottlenecks, and measuring throughput Support briefings, presentations, and demonstrations for the customer Support the analysis, design, and implementation of cyber requirements in the software Collaborate with other program architects to develop enterprise architecture, following established intent and guidelines Installation and setup of Linux and Windows hardware platforms, covering everything from the OS installation to the C2BMC-developed applications.
