The Role

The successful SVP, Senior Business Director (SVP/SBD) at BBDO New York is a senior business leader responsible for overseeing multiple client businesses, brands, or portfolios and driving enterprise-level growth, operational excellence, and integrated agency leadership. The SVP/SBD serves as a trusted business advisor to executive client stakeholders and is accountable for the overall health, performance, and growth of client relationships representing approximately $5–15M in revenue. They bring a deep understanding of the client’s business, category, competitive environment, organizational priorities, and broader marketplace to help shape long-term business and marketing strategies. The SVP/SBD leads increasingly complex organizational models spanning multiple agencies, disciplines, capabilities, and markets. They connect the right resources across BBDO and Omnicom to solve client business challenges and ensure teams operate as an integrated, high-performing client ecosystem. The SVP/SBD is responsible for the commercial health of their portfolio, including revenue growth, profitability, staffing strategy, resource allocation, operational performance, and long-term account planning. They identify opportunities to expand client relationships and bring forward capabilities from across the Omnicom network that create meaningful business value. As a senior agency leader, the SVP/SBD also develops the next generation of business leadership. They mentor senior account leaders, build high-performing teams, and create organizational structures capable of supporting both current client needs and future growth. In sum, the standard of performance for the SVP/SBD is excellence in business leadership, strategic partnership, integrated agency leadership, commercial performance, talent development, and enterprise growth. Key Activities Oversee multiple client businesses, brands, or portfolios totaling approximately $5–15M in revenue. Serve as senior business leader and trusted advisor to executive-level client stakeholders. Provide strategic leadership across complex, integrated client ecosystems and agency teams. Drive portfolio growth, profitability, staffing strategy, resource allocation, and operational performance. Lead complex Omnicom operating models involving multiple agencies, capabilities, disciplines, markets, and workflows. Ensure integration across creative, media, CRM, commerce, digital, social, production, data, and other relevant disciplines. Shape long-term business strategies and transformational client roadmaps. Lead annual business planning, resource planning, financial forecasting, and growth planning. Identify enterprise-level growth opportunities across existing client relationships and the broader Omnicom network. Steward excellence in strategic thinking, creativity, innovation, and commercial impact. Mentor senior leaders and build high-performing, future-ready teams. Champion modern ways of working, including AI platforms, automation tools, knowledge systems, and emerging technologies that improve business performance.

Responsibilities
