The role of the Mechanical Engineering Intern is to contribute to the Nucor team, focusing on achieving exceptional results in the areas of safety, cost, and reliability. The role will be hands-on and interactive with the maintenance and production team in the field. The selected candidate’s job responsibilities will include:
Learning mechanical and process fundamentals involved in steel making. Maintenance/Engineering projects focused on the 3 areas listed above. Preventative & Predictive maintenance programs and routines. Routine maintenance and troubleshooting equipment and process related issues. Learning and applying new skills in fabrication, fluid power, power transmission and pneumatics.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum Requirements:
