Production Planner II Job Summary The Production Planner II is responsible for executing demand forecasts and managing production control activities for the Simarano manufacturing facility to ensure material availability and schedule adherence in alignment with the Master Production Schedule (MPS). This role requires a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional with strong analytical capabilities, project management experience, and the ability to effectively collaborate and influence cross-functional stakeholders. A continuous improvement mindset and commitment to operational excellence are essential for success in this position. Essential Duties & Responsibilities The Production Planner II will:
Manage production control activities for the Simarano manufacturing facility. Maintain Master Production Schedules (MPS) within RapidResponse and convert planned orders into firm work orders. Ensure production schedules are accurate and maintained within the formal planning system. Align work orders with component availability and manufacturing capacity requirements. Review completed work orders for material and resource variances and monitor work order aging. Partner with Manufacturing Operations and Procurement to review and approve build plans while ensuring schedule adherence. Maintain and communicate weekly supply alerts. Communicate product availability updates and supply risks to key stakeholders. Support Integrated Business Planning (IBP) activities, including supply review preparation. Identify and escalate material shortages while driving actions that improve material availability. Manage inventory targets and support inventory optimization initiatives. Support annual budget planning and quarterly forecasting activities through production and inventory analysis. Perform master data maintenance and audits to ensure ERP system integrity, including lead times, safety stock levels, and capacity models. Participate in activities affecting product availability, including quality holds, engineering change orders (ECOs), and scrap management. Serve as a key liaison with Research & Development (R&D) to support new product introductions (NPI). Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support business objectives.
Qualifications Education
Bachelor's degree required. Equivalent combination of education and 3-5 years of relevant experience may be considered.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, inventory control, or supply chain operations. Experience within an FDA-regulated medical device manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience with Oracle ERP systems and Agile Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems is a plus. Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement certification and/or experience is highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, including Oracle, ASCP, and RapidResponse. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; advanced Excel skills preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills. Ability to interpret, understand, and follow written procedures and work instructions. Sound business and financial acumen, including understanding of cost impacts, operational variances, budgeting, and forecasting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across multiple functions and levels of the organization. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
The annualized base salary range for this role is $ 63,600-$99,500 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will depend on factors such as
