About this role
Alternate Locations: Radnor, PA (Pennsylvania); Charlotte, NC (North Carolina); Fort Wayne, IN (Indiana); Greensboro, NC (North Carolina) Work Arrangement: Hybrid : Employee will work 3 days a week in a Lincoln office Relocation assistance: is not available for this opportunity. Requisition #: 76532 The Role at a Glance
Lincoln's IT organization is adding a Salesforce Technical Lead to guide the design and delivery of new solutions for Lincoln's Workplace Solutions (WPS) organization. This role leads one of three WPS Salesforce development teams and reports to the Value Stream IT Lead. This role is as much about leadership as it is about engineering: you will set technical direction for your team, mentor developers, and partner closely with our Salesforce Architect to keep designs consistent and aligned across the platform. You will work directly alongside your team's Product Owner — who gathers requirements from business stakeholders and writes user stories — reviewing and shaping those stories with the team, and you'll also design and implement custom solutions within the Salesforce space and beyond, integrating with multiple applications and technologies What you'll be doing
Set technical direction for your team: lead design decisions, set coding standards, and ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and well-architected — in partnership with our Salesforce Architect. Partner closely with your team's Product Owner as they bring user stories to the team, helping the team ask the right questions, clarify scope, and — when needed — engage directly with business stakeholders to resolve open questions. Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pairing, and hands-on coaching, helping build a stronger, more self-sufficient team over time. Design, develop, test, and support custom applications using the declarative and programmatic capabilities of the Salesforce Platform. Implement and support solutions that integrate Salesforce within an ecosystem of multiple business-critical systems (cloud and on-prem). Lead and actively participate in Agile ceremonies and practices, helping the team continuously improve how it plans, estimates, and delivers. Maintain strong working knowledge of the latest Salesforce features and releases, and continually improve learning through Trailhead modules or certification. Handle changing priorities, manage multiple tasks, and work within tight timeframes and deadlines — while keeping the team focused and unblocked. What we’re looking for
Leadership & Communication (Must-Haves)
Proven experience leading or acting as technical lead for a development team, with hands-on ownership of design decisions and technical direction. Comfort partnering with peers — architects and other technical leads — to align on design and share standards across teams, rather than working in isolation. Demonstrated experience mentoring junior developers — able to speak concretely to how you've grown other engineers' skills. Excellent ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences, including a Product Owner and business stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Technical Experience (Must-Haves)
6–10 years' professional experience in the Salesforce Platform. 4-year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience. Strong experience in programmatic development of Salesforce applications using Lightning (Aura and Lightning Web Components), Visualforce, Apex, REST and SOAP APIs, and Test-Driven Development. Strong experience in declarative customizations: design of the data model, Lightning UI, business logic, security settings, mobile, and reports and dashboards.
