Salary Range: $136,000.00 - $176,000.00 What’s the role? We are looking for a Senior Market Researcher who can influence marketing decision-making by translating rigorous brand and performance marketing research into clear insights that sharpen channel execution and audience strategy. You’ll work closely with marketing teams and alongside other researchers and data scientists to deliver recommendations that will craft the future of human commerce on Etsy. This is a full-time position reporting to the Senior Manager, Market Research. This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Brooklyn Office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. The Market Research team helps Etsy understand customers, sellers, and the marketplace through rigorous qualitative and quantitative research We use research to inform the development of marketing strategy & tactics and to help evaluate marketing performance (in close partnership with Marketing Analytics) We’re a mixed-methods team with a deep bench of quantitative and qualitative methods, but our team leans towards quantitative skill sets We conduct research with global consumers, small business owners, as well as Etsy buyers & sellers We actively foster an inclusive team culture that promotes diversity, collaboration, and professional development What does the day-to-day look like? Primary Tasks: Partners with Product & Retention Marketing teams to guide marketing strategy and execution Independently develop and execute research for tightly-scoped research projects, including developing survey instruments, analyzing data, generating insights and recommendations, and writing reports, while supporting the Product & Retention Marketing Research Lead on more widely-scoped research projects Secondary Tasks: Own key aspects of our brand tracking program, including vendor relationships, questionnaire updates, tabulation specs, data analysis, and reporting Source and synthesize secondary research, including competitive intelligence Contribute to market research operations, including project management and overseeing the process of working with third-party research vendors (e.g., research agencies, moderators). Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are: Approximately 5+ years experience conducting primary market research, ideally in a multi-channel marketing or ecommerce environment Expertise designing and executing quantitative and mixed-methods research, including brand tracking, audience strategy, channel measurement Strong quantitative research skills, including sampling, questionnaire design, and data analysis, with the ability to develop measurement frameworks, interpret complex data from primary research and third-party sources, identify meaningful trends, and translate findings into clear business
