 About this opportunity:   We are looking for a Senior Software and Automation Engineer to join our team in Cairo, Egypt. You will develop, integrate, automate, deploy, and support software solutions used in telecommunications environments. The role covers applications, APIs, databases, platforms, and infrastructure, with end-to-end ownership from design through production.   What you will do:   •    Design, develop, and maintain Java applications and automation solutions, making technical decisions from requirements through production. •    Develop and integrate REST and SOAP APIs with internal and external systems. •    Build scripts and automation tools that reduce manual and repetitive work. •    Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot applications on Linux and application servers. •    Lead root-cause analysis across application, database, operating system, network, and infrastructure layers. •    Support upgrades, migrations, incidents, changes, and production-critical activities through the ticketing system. •    Maintain technical documentation and review code and solution designs. •    Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with development, operations, and network teams.   The skills you bring:   •    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field. •    Approximately 4–6 years of experience in software development, automation, or application support. •    Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, software design, and architecture principles. •    Hands-on experience with Java SE and Java EE, plus frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Quarkus, Hibernate/JPA, or JSF/PrimeFaces. •    Experience with application servers such as JBoss/WildFly, Tomcat, or GlassFish. •    Good understanding of REST APIs, SOAP web services, and service-oriented architecture. •    Experience with Docker, containers, and Kubernetes. •    Good working knowledge of Linux and relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or Sybase. •    Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, firewalls, proxies, and load balancers, with the ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues. •    Experience with Git and scripting languages such as Bash or Python. •    Experience with Identity and Access Management solutions, preferably Keycloak. •    Familiarity with ticketing and service management platforms, preferably HPE Service Manager (HPSM). •    Familiarity with telecommunications environments, including network architecture, RAN, or transmission concepts. •    Knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, or Angular. •    Knowledge of monitoring, logging, observability, and highly available systems. •    Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to take ownership end to end and learn new technologies. ologies.
