This role is ideal for an early-career engineer seeking to build on prior experience by taking on greater responsibility in innovative drug product development and radiopharmaceutical manufacturing projects. As Project Engineer, you will collaborate across teams to help coordinate and execute capital projects, including facility upgrades, Hot Cell enhancements, automation initiatives, and the integration of new manufacturing systems in a GMP environment. You will participate in project planning, manage specific workstreams, support compliance efforts, and provide hands-on engineering support throughout the project lifecycle. This position offers opportunities to advance your project management skills, lead technical tasks, and further develop expertise in the growing field of radiopharmaceutical operations.
Job Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Assist in coordinating and executing capital and facility expansion projects related to radiopharmaceutical manufacturing. • Monitor project schedules and budgets, supporting timely completion of key tasks. • Apply fundamental mechanical, electrical, and industrial engineering principles to all assigned projects. • Support the design and implementation of commercial production lines and associated systems. • Contribute to process automation projects to improve operational efficiency. • Participate in integrating engineering and business systems in accordance with BMS corporate standards. • Help coordinate with vendors, partners, and service providers to meet project objectives. • Promote compliance with EHS and Radiation Safety programs and foster a culture of safety. • Review, draft, and revise technical documentation (SOPs, URSs, forms) as needed. • Travel up to 15% may be required to support project activities. • Provide on-call support for critical equipment or system emergencies during off-hours as necessary. Education and Experience • BS degree in Engineering required. • Minimum 3 years of engineering experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry. • Project coordination or engineering support experience for capital projects preferred. • Ability to work on-site in a radiation-controlled environment. Skills and Qualification • Strong abilities in project management and cross-functional teamwork. • Effective presentation and reporting skills. • Capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment; able to lead and contribute to teams. • Good attention to detail, strong time management, and dedication to project completion. • Able to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals for complex systems. • General knowledge of key engineering principles. • High ethical standards, professionalism, and confidentiality. • Strong organization, interpersonal, and communication skills. • Self-motivated, adaptable, and effective under pressure. • Demonstrates a “can-do” attitude and helps foster a culture of responsiveness and positive teamwork.
