Job Purpose To support the efficient operation of the Print department by ensuring the timely movement of raw materials from the inbound area to the printing presses and the transfer of finished printed products to the Cut & Crease department. The role plays a critical part in maintaining production flow, minimising press downtime, and ensuring materials and finished goods are handled safely, accurately, and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Material Supply to Printing Presses Transport board and raw materials from inbound storage locations to the printing presses in line with production schedules. Ensure presses are supplied with the correct materials at the right time to prevent production interruptions. Monitor press-side stock levels and proactively replenish materials as required. Work closely with press operators and management to prioritise material requirements. Movement of Finished Goods Remove completed print work from production areas promptly and safely. Transfer finished printed products to the Cut & Crease department to support continuous workflow. Ensure all materials are correctly identified and routed to the appropriate production area. Maintain effective work-in-progress flow between departments. Material Handling and Equipment Operation Safely operate Powered Pallet Trucks (PPT) throughout the shift. Carry out daily vehicle checks in accordance with company procedures. Operate Counterbalance Forklift Trucks where trained and authorised. Report equipment defects or safety concerns immediately. Health, Safety and Housekeeping Adhere to all company Health & Safety policies and procedures. Maintain high standards of housekeeping within warehouse, storage, and production areas. Ensure materials are stored and transported safely to minimise the risk of damage or injury. Participate in safety observations and continuous improvement initiatives. Quality and Operational Support Support stock accuracy through correct handling and movement of materials. Ensure traceability information and documentation are maintained where required. Assist with stock takes and inventory checks as necessary. Support operational efficiency and continuous improvement activities within the department. Knowledge, Skills, Experience Essential Previous experience working in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or logistics environment. Experience operating a Powered Pallet Truck (PPT). Good understanding of safe material handling practices. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to prioritise workload and respond to changing production demands. Basic literacy and numeracy skills. Desirable Valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) Licence. Experience supporting a print, packaging, or converting operation. Knowledge of warehouse management systems or stock control processes. Experience working within a Lean Manufacturing environment.
