General Manager – Le Méridien Medina About Le Méridien Medina Le Méridien Medina is an upscale hotel located in the heart of Medina, Saudi Arabia, offering guests a refined blend of contemporary hospitality and authentic Saudi touches. The hotel benefits from a strategic location close to Al Masjid Al Nabawi and provides a complimentary shuttle service to and from the mosque, making it particularly well positioned to serve religious, leisure, family, and business travelers visiting the Holy City. The property features elegantly designed guest rooms and suites, including a Royal Suite, alongside a range of dining and guest services. Its food and beverage offering includes Al Roshan Restaurant, serving international cuisine through buffet and à la carte options, and Le Café, offering coffee, mocktails, and sweet and savory selections. Le Méridien Medina also has a significant meetings and events operation, with five event spaces and approximately 1,900+ square metres of event space, including venues capable of hosting up to 500 guests. This provides an important opportunity to drive corporate, group, conference, wedding, and social-event business. The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded General Manager to lead Le Méridien Medina and take overall responsibility for the hotel's operational performance, financial results, guest experience, commercial strategy, and people leadership. This is a highly visible leadership position requiring an individual who can balance the operational demands of a full-service hotel with the unique requirements of operating in Medina. The successful candidate will be an inspiring leader who understands luxury and upscale hospitality, has a strong commercial mindset, and can build relationships with owners, Marriott stakeholders, government and local partners, key accounts, and the wider community.
Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will be an accomplished hotel leader with:
5+ years of experience in a General Manager or comparable senior hotel leadership position. A strong track record in upscale, luxury, or full-service hotel operations. Demonstrated responsibility for hotel P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial performance. Strong knowledge of rooms, F&B, sales, revenue management, engineering, HR, and guest services. Proven ability to lead large and diverse teams. Strong commercial acumen with a track record of improving revenue, profitability, and market share. Experience managing hotels in the Middle East / GCC or a strong understanding of the regional hospitality market is highly desirable. Experience in a destination driven by religious, leisure, group, or MICE tourism would be advantageous. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills. Strong understanding of international hotel brand standards. Arabic language skills are preferred but not required. Fluency in English is essential.
Key Responsibilities Hotel Leadership & Operations
Provide overall leadership and direction for all hotel operations. Ensure consistently high standards of guest service, quality, cleanliness, safety, and operational excellence. Lead the Executive Committee and establish a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, and performance. Ensure the hotel operates in line with Le Méridien and Marriott brand standards. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability. Maintain a strong focus on guest satisfaction and reputation management.
Commercial & Financial Performance
Take full ownership of the hotel's financial performance and annual business plan. Drive revenue growth across rooms, food & beverage, meetings, events, and other revenue streams. Work closely with Sales & Marketing and Revenue Management to maximize occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, market share, and overall profitability. Develop and execute commercial strategies appropriate to
