A Day in the Life The Digital Transformation Program Manager - Manufacturing leads enterprise-critical digital initiatives at Medtronic's Nathan Lane Manufacturing site in Plymouth, MN - a high-volume, highly regulated operation producing life-saving medical devices. In this role, you will lead the pilot and deployment of digital manufacturing solutions, including a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and advanced manufacturing analytics. You will help drive the site's digital transformation strategy by delivering scalable, integrated solutions that connect shop-floor execution, business processes, and enterprise systems such as SAP. This role goes beyond program coordination. It requires a leader who can bridge manufacturing operations, digital technologies, business processes, and people- driving adoption, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering sustainable business impact. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Lead end-to-end digital manufacturing initiatives, including MES and related digital solutions, in a highly regulated, high-volume manufacturing environment. Implement and integrate MES with shop-floor systems, SAP, quality systems, and other enterprise applications to enable seamless data flow and operational visibility. Plan and execute digital manufacturing projects, ensuring delivery within scope, timeline, budget, and compliance requirements. Lead change management activities, including stakeholder engagement, communications, training, user adoption, and sustainment. Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and IT to support the site's digital transformation roadmap and continuous improvement efforts. Develop a scalable digital manufacturing foundation that enables real-time visibility, advanced analytics, automation, and AI-driven capabilities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of project management experience Or an advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of project management experience Experience supporting digital transformation initiatives within a regulated industry Preferred Qualifications Experience leading digital manufacturing and MES initiatives in a manufacturing environment. Experience managing cross-functional technology projects and system implementations. Knowledge of MES, SAP, Quality Systems, and shop-floor automation integration. Understanding of manufacturing operations and regulatory requirements in a regulated industry. Experience driving change management, including stakeholder engagement, training, and user adoption. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Strong communication , collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to influence and align teams across Operations, Engineering, Quality, and IT. Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
