Purpose: We are seeking a Piping Engineer I to join our Baton Rouge team, supporting projects across refining, chemicals, and energy sectors. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer who is eager to build technical expertise, support piping engineering deliverables, and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic Gulf Coast environment. Responsibilities: Assist with piping engineering calculations including line sizing, hydraulics, and pressure drop analysis under the guidance of experienced engineers. Support the development of piping specifications, material selections, and datasheets. Interpret P\&IDs and support piping layout and design coordination with design teams. Coordinate with stress, mechanical, civil/structural, and process disciplines with support from senior engineers. Support 3D model reviews and ensure engineering intent is accurately reflected in design deliverables. Assist with development of material requisitions and vendor data review. Participate in project coordination meetings and assist with progress tracking and documentation. Support field activities including walkdowns, tie-ins, and construction issue resolution. What you will bring Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements: 0–2 years of piping engineering experience, preferably in refining, chemical, petrochemical, or industrial facilities. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Basic knowledge of ASME B31.3 and applicable industry standards. Exposure to piping design and layout in a 3D model environment (SP3D, E3D, or similar) is preferred. Familiarity with piping materials, specifications, and basic stress considerations. Ability to learn quickly, take direction, and complete standard assignments with guidance. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Additional Information: Work on high-impact projects across the Gulf Coast. Gain exposure to both brownfield revamp and greenfield developments. Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training: Required: 2 or 3 year technical diploma with piping design specific training. Preferred : An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Location Based in Baton Rouge, LA, with periodic site visits to local client facilities.
