Position
Summary The Senior Manager, Third Party Strategy and Oversight (TPSO) plays a key role within Safety Quality Management (SQM), supporting the development and execution of the Patient Safety (PS) third‑party oversight framework. This role focuses on the effective management, monitoring, continuous improvement and day‑to‑day execution of oversight activities for external parties performing PV activities across PS, ensuring compliance with global pharmacovigilance regulations, BMS internal standards, and contractual requirements. The role partners closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to monitor third‑party performance, manage compliance issues, and drive continuous improvement across assigned third‑party portfolios. This role contributes subject‑matter expertise, supports governance activities, and escalates risks and issues appropriately to leadership. Duties/Responsibilities Third‑Party Oversight & Compliance Support the consistent application of the third‑party governance framework and oversight standards across global and local PS third‑party engagements Execute oversight activities across assigned third‑party portfolios, including compliance monitoring, performance reviews, and issue management. Track, review, and assess third‑party compliance metrics (e.g. monthly submission metrics, KPIs, late inbound reporting), identifying trends, risks, and areas for improvement. Support investigation and documentation of compliance issues, including contribution to deviation assessments, root cause analysis, and review of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs). Monitor third‑party changes that may impact PV compliance, quality, or continuity and escalate risks as appropriate. Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of oversight tools, dashboards, metrics, and governance routines. Support harmonisation of oversight practices across CROs, vendors/service providers, distributors, and business partners, in line with SQM standards. Participate in the review of Pharmacovigilance Agreements (PVAs), Statements of Work (SOW) and related documentation to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and internal expectations. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Collaborate with BMS stakeholders to support inspection readiness, audits, and responses to findings. Provide input and subject‑matter expertise for third‑party related projects and initiatives within the SQM portfolio. Support the development and maintenance of SOPs, work instructions, and training materials related to third‑party oversight. Communication & Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. Communicate compliance status, risks, and issues clearly and professionally to stakeholders at multiple levels. Provide guidance on third‑party oversight expectations and drive awareness‑building across PS. Demonstrate a strong quality mindset and promote a culture of quality and compliance, accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. Support broader SQM activities and book of work, as assigned.
