About this role
Manufacturing Engineer What You Will Do You will play a key role in optimising the production capability of one of our major manufacturing sites producing foam and gas suppression systems used worldwide. This is a hands-on manufacturing engineering role focused on improving efficiency, reducing cost and enhancing quality across production operations. You will work closely with production, engineering and supply chain teams in an office- and site-based environment to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. Site located outside Great Yarmouth city centre. Working hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30am – 4:00pm, with an early finish on Fridays at 1:30pm What We Offer Competitive salary 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Pension scheme Life insurance Employee Assistance Programme Employee referral scheme Employee discounts Cycle to Work scheme Discounts on Johnson Controls products Ongoing training and career development opportunities How You Will Do It Plan, manage and review production plans to meet output, cost and quality objectives Monitor expenditure and forecast resource and production capacity requirements Optimise manufacturing layouts for assembly and materials handling Design and improve manufacturing processes, equipment and machine utilisation Plan and sequence manufacturing operations to improve flow and efficiency Provide guidance and input into engineering design concepts for manufacturability Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma / DMAIC methodologies Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive quality, cost and productivity improvements What We Are Looking For Required: HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels Computer literate with a practical, data-driven mindset Proactive, driven and confident with a strong work ethic About Us Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization, helps customers use energy more productively, reduce carbon emissions, and operate with the precision and resilience required in rapidly expanding industries such as data centers, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, advanced manufacturing, and higher education.
