Design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software. Set operational specifications, and formulate and analyze software requirements. May design embedded systems software. Newport News Shipbuilding’s Information Technology team is seeking an experienced Manager 2, IT Software Engineering to lead technology teams supporting critical business and engineering functions. This role combines technical leadership, business acumen, cybersecurity awareness, and people leadership to deliver reliable technology solutions supporting Newport News Shipbuilding and its U.S. Navy customers. Key Responsibilities •    Lead multiple software, systems, and test engineering teams in delivering technology solutions from design through implementation and sustainment. •    Provide leadership for key NNS applications, including SharePoint Online, SAP Finance, and NNS Access Control, ensuring solutions meet business, operational, cybersecurity, and customer requirements. •    Drive Agile/SAFe, DevOps, and continuous-improvement practices to improve productivity, predictability, quality, and delivery. •    Hire, coach, develop, and mentor employees while managing team operations, performance, and accountability. •    Lead cross-functional and matrixed teams, including Business, Infrastructure, Configuration Management, Information Assurance, and business partners, to achieve organizational goals. •    Build strong relationships across the organization, communicate effectively with senior leadership and technical teams, remove barriers, and align technology initiatives with strategic priorities. Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design; Master?s Degree and 4 years of relevant experience One of the following may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree for Information Technology Related Positions Only:
