What You Will Do

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January- July/August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).​ As a Mechanical Design Engineering Co-op at Collins Aerospace, you will work closely with engineers supporting the development of aircraft mechanical cargo systems with the design, integration, and test. In addition, you will be working cross-functionally with Customer Teams, Hardware & Software Designers, Test Engineers & Technicians, Supply Chain, Production & Quality, and Field Service Engineers. Performs engineering work and applied research, development, and design for new products to ensure quality standards and functional objectives are met. Develops, designs, and tests mechanical components and systems. Resolves day-to-day technical problems on the production lines to minimize disruption. Participates in technical preparations for new product development and implementation to ensure new products meet the required specifications. Operates CAD software to design components. Completes drawing designs as required to facilitate the engineering process. Consults with engineers, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders on existing and potential engineering projects or products. Produces products according to specifications using the most cost effective and efficient means.

Qualifications

You Must Have Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session. Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) Software such as NX, Catia, Creo, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and/or Autodesk Must have a minimum of 45 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience
