As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. As a Technical Program Manager for Safety and Anti-Abuse, you will guide the delivery of AI safeguards and anti-abuse initiatives for Generative AI products. You will partner with product managers, engineers, policy teams, and leadership to define safety roadmaps, prioritize anti-abuse features, implement model guardrails, and manage complex safety projects to successful release. In this role, you will navigate a fast-paced environment where your technical depth, safety expertise, and program management directly influence Google’s AI safety strategy. Manage safety and anti-abuse programs with deep technical and product understanding, applying program management expertise to complex GenAI contexts while providing thought leadership on AI safety. Manage end-to-end life-cycles of AI safety initiatives, from requirement gathering and threat modeling to risk assessment, policy enforcement, and feature prioritization. Partner with engineering, policy, legal, and product teams to define safety workstreams, mitigation plans, and release milestones. Drive alignment on trust and safety standards across all stakeholders. Provide clear project status updates to leadership and partners. Advocate for advanced safety evaluation methodologies, red-teaming practices, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for abuse detection and safety performance.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in program management. Experience with artificial intelligence/machine learning projects, tools, or infrastructure. Experience establishing and tracking KPIs for trust and safety, anti-abuse metrics, and AI safety features. Experience with AI safety principles, anti-abuse mechanisms, content moderation, and guardrail evaluation in Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI release cycles. Preferred qualifications: 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects. Experience working with AI red-teaming, prompt injection defenses, automated content moderation, and generative AI safety guardrails. Experience managing customer trust and safety expectations and establishing best practices for safe AI deployment in enterprise environments. Demonstrated track record of managing trust and safety work streams, mitigating emerging AI risks, and managing strategic alignment across evolving programs.
