The Operational Excellence Discipline Manager will lead a team of subject matter experts (Discipline Leads) that support Military Engines MRO&U (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul, & Upgrade) depots around the world. This team will be located in West Palm Beach, FL and Oklahoma City, OK; however, the Discipline Manager will be an on-site role located in East Hartford, CT. This Discipline Manager’s team will own F135 MRO&U technical processes (e.g., assembly, balance, borescope, test) and will develop and maintain process PFMEAs and other standard work, as applicable. The team will integrate with depot management, Process & Methods Engineers (PMEs), and OpX leads to baseline MRO&U readiness and to develop and assist in executing improvement projects to drive depot maturity, resulting in improved quality, delivery, and financial metrics (e.g., escapes, turnaround time, overhaul hours). This role will report to the Director, ME Sustainment Operational Excellence. Key Responsibilities will include: Developing Readiness Levels and site standardization targets, in conjunction with Depot MRL Lead, Operational Excellence Manager, Global Depot Strategy Manager, and team leadership. Implementing measurement of depot maturity with Readiness Levels, in conjunction with Depot MRL Lead and Operational Excellence Manager. Lead integration of new technologies and/or business processes for the MRO&U network Participating in site baselines across CONUS and OCONUS depots. Leading team of ~5 to 7; Helping team members develop professionally through coaching, training, and hands-on leadership opportunities. Developing proficiency structure/guidelines for SMEs with Global Depot Strategy Manager. Progressing less-experienced team members through proficiency levels and identifying technical growth opportunities for more-experienced team members.
Basic Qualifications
B.S. in Engineering. 10+ years equivalent experience or 8+ years with an advanced degree in Operations, Engineering, Program Management, or related function. US Citizen due to government contracts. Previous supervisory experience. Proficiency with F135 or other military engine assembly and/or test in a production or overhaul environment. Experience working with global sites. Must be able to obtain security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Supervisory experience with team members spread across locations. Familiarity with engine overhaul (military or commercial). Self-motivated, team player with good communication skills. Ability to focus on results and successfully manage multiple tasks/projects. Experience working with and presenting to executive level management. Proven success working in a matrixed
