About this role
Join our Team About This Opportunity We are looking for an experienced MPBN SME / IP Transport Engineer with 5+ years of experience in telecom, mobile packet core, IP transport, and MPLS networks. In this role, you will provide expert-level technical support for Mobile Packet Backbone Networks, mobile backhaul, and end-to-end packet network connectivity. You will be responsible for network operations, fault isolation, performance analysis, configuration support, incident management, and coordination with RAN, Core, Transmission, Operations, and vendor teams. Your primary objective will be to ensure the availability, stability, and performance of the mobile packet transport network while resolving complex IP/MPLS and mobile connectivity issues. What You Will Do • Provide L2/L3 technical support and SME-level troubleshooting for MPBN and IP transport networks. • Troubleshoot end-to-end connectivity issues across RAN, MPBN, EPC/5GC, and external networks. • Analyze and resolve issues related to IP routing, MPLS, VLAN, VRF, QoS, VPN, and mobile backhaul connectivity. • Troubleshoot connectivity between eNodeB/gNodeB and EPC/5GC network elements. • Work with routing protocols, including BGP, MP-BGP, OSPF, and IS-IS. • Troubleshoot MPLS L2VPN/L3VPN, label-switching, and packet transport issues. • Investigate packet loss, latency, jitter, link flaps, routing instability, and network congestion. • Perform fault isolation using alarms, logs, counters, packet captures, and CLI outputs. • Support the investigation of S1, S5/S8, SGi, N2, N3, and other mobile-network connectivity issues, where applicable. • Coordinate with RAN, EPC/5GC, IP Transport, Transmission, Operations, and vendor teams for end-to-end issue resolution. • Analyze network performance and identify recurring faults, capacity concerns, and improvement opportunities. • Support network changes, migrations, expansions, integrations, and post-change validation. • Participate in major incident and problem management activities. • Prepare root-cause analysis reports, technical documentation, troubleshooting procedures, and operational reports. • Work with OEM and vendor support teams to resolve complex network issues. • Maintain network documentation, topology diagrams, configuration standards, and operational procedures. You Will Bring 5+ years of experience in telecom IP/MPLS, mobile transport, or MPBN networks. Strong knowledge of IPv4/IPv6, IP addressing, subnetting, MPLS, VRF, VLAN, QinQ, L2VPN, and L3VPN. Hands-on experience with BGP, MP-BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, QoS, and traffic engineering. Understanding of 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G network architectures. Knowledge of LTE/EPC, 5G Core, mobile backhaul, packet transport, and eNodeB/gNodeB connectivity. Understanding of S1, N2, N3, and related mobile-network interfaces. Basic knowledge of GTP/GTP-U, signaling, and user-plane connectivity. Experience with Wireshark, packet capture analysis, router and switch CLI troubleshooting, ping, traceroute, log analysis, alarms, and performance counters. Experience working in a NOC, operations, engineering, or technical support environment. Hands-on experience with telecom networking vendors such as Nokia, Cisco, Juniper, Huawei, or equivalent. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and end-to-end fault-isolation skills. Ability to manage critical production incidents and coordinate effectively with multiple technical teams. Strong communication, stakeholder-management, documentation, and reporting skills. Ability to work independently and remain effective under pressure during critical incidents. Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline. “All academic credentials must be from recognized and accredited institutions and are further subject to verification.” Why join
