What you’ll do: Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Steel Shop Team Lead (2nd Shift). Hours of work: 2:00PM – 10:30PM In this function you will: • Foster a safe, engaged, and inclusive work culture by complying with all policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment, and performing and assigning 5S duties. • Work directly with the supervisor and manufacturing team(s) to ensure customer orders are executed in a timely and efficient manner and the most urgent orders are fulfilled first. • Review orders and associated documentation (drawings, travel documents, bills of material) as needed to ensure the team has the appropriate information to complete the job and to assist with troubleshooting problems with the order documentation. • Provide clear direction and guidance to the department, aligning team efforts with organizational goals. • Oversee production processes to ensure efficiency and adherence to schedules to meet deadlines and optimize workflow. • Coordinate with Supply Chain team to ensure that adequate raw materials and supplies are available for the team. • Conduct spot checks to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the production process. • Facilitate training and cross-training for associates to enhance knowledge and versatility. • Lead Tier 1 meetings, work with the team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and make daily updates to Tier boards. • Review steel inventory and plan jobs in conjunction with other production shifts. • Communicate with other shifts leads and/or supervisors to ensure a smooth transition of tasks and job updates. • Serve as a back-up Supervisor if needed, ensuring continuity in leadership and operations, assisting in interviewing candidates for your designated area, and providing feedback to associates regarding productivity, breaks, etc. • Perform other duties as required. Qualifications: Required (Basic) Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED required from an accredited institution • Minimum of 2-3 years of manufacturing or materials processing experience required. • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts. • Experience using various tools, including work instructions, fork truck and measuring tape. • Prior work experience using a computer, including competence in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, and Excel) required. • Incumbent must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting are inherent to this position. • No relocation benefit is offered for this position.
