Caterpillar's Desford Paint Facility is looking for an experienced and driven Weekend Maintenance Team Leader to lead our dedicated weekend maintenance operation. This role has been established to increase planned maintenance activity, improve equipment reliability, and support the long-term performance of our paint facility assets. As the Weekend Maintenance Team Leader, you will be responsible for coordinating and supervising maintenance technicians, ensuring planned maintenance activities are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You will play a critical role in driving maintenance excellence while supporting Caterpillar's commitment to safety, quality, and operational performance. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Lead and coordinate all weekend maintenance activities across the paint facility. Manage and prioritise planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to maximise asset reliability and availability. Provide day-to-day leadership, support, and technical guidance to the weekend maintenance team. Ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with site standards and procedures. Drive a proactive maintenance culture focused on root cause analysis, reliability improvements, and continuous improvement. Review and allocate maintenance work orders through the site's Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Support fault diagnosis and escalation for complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues. Monitor maintenance performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with production, engineering, reliability, and operations teams to minimise downtime and improve asset performance. Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality requirements. Lead toolbox talks, safety conversations, and shift handovers. Support maintenance planning activities and provide feedback on equipment condition and future maintenance requirements. NB. The panel cannot make assumptions when shortlisting therefore please demonstrate your qualifications and experience on your CV relevant to the criteria outlined.   Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles: Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC, apprenticeship, or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering. Significant maintenance experience within a manufacturing, automotive, industrial, or process environment. Previous experience leading teams, supervising maintenance activities, or acting as a senior technician. Strong understanding of preventative maintenance and reliability principles. Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities. Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop others. Experience working with maintenance management systems (CMMS). Demonstrable commitment to health and safety excellence.

Desired Qualifications

Experience within paint shop, finishing, automated manufacturing, or process environments. Understanding of PLC-controlled equipment and automation systems. Experience with TPM, Lean Manufacturing, or Continuous Improvement methodologies. IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH, or equivalent health and safety qualification.
