We boldly go. Where is the work: On-Site (5 days) Trane Technologies is hiring for an Equipment & Airside Quotation Engineer role to join our Team in Belgium. In this role, you will be responsible for the equipment and airside portion of various HVAC projects. This includes validating equipment selections, pricing, discounts, and submittal processes as required, while remaining accountable for the strategy and performance achievement of specific budget objectives.
What you will do
Optimize and validate HVAC specifications: Review project plans, consultant specifications, original estimates, and tender documents to ensure airside and equipment selections (including size, configuration, voltage, and options) align perfectly with client requirements, industry standards, and regulations. Analyze and select: Analyze project requirements to develop optimized airside equipment selections and highly accurate technical proposals, collaborating closely with the product team for pre-sales support and the sales team. Site surveys for retrofits: Conduct on-site surveys and measurements for equipment upgrades, replacements, and retrofits to ensure highly accurate quoting and seamless future integration. Validate project scope: Review transition documents, blueprints, and specifications to identify potential cost savings (Value Engineering) and technical challenges, confirming equipment and value package (EQ/VPP) configurations and quantities. Sales support & submittals: Provide strong technical support to the sales team during negotiations or meetings with consulting engineers and architects. Develop preliminary and final submittals as needed, conduct job cost consensus meetings, and release submittals while implementing any required changes. Cost optimization: Maintain a competitive edge by staying current on industry trends and optimizing expenses through vendor price negotiations for materials, components, and services. Order processing: Prepare equipment for order entry, ensuring accurate pricing and coordination worksheet revisions, and reconcile job costs accordingly. External validation: Validate external equipment and service purchase prices to ensure cost accuracy, competitive bidding, and overall project profitability.
What you will bring
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 2 years of related experience, with a strong focus on HVAC equipment selection, quotation, or supporting technical sales (experience with airside/ventilation systems is highly preferred). Solid technical understanding of HVAC systems, air handling technology, and relevant industry standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with specialized equipment selection software, CAD, and ERP systems is a strong plus.
