Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly motivated individual with strong work behaviors to join our team as a Scientist I within our Cell Biology team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to research projects with the potential to make a significant impact in the scientific community. What will you do?: Designs experimental plans with guidance and completes experiments, analyzes experimental data, generates laboratory protocols, and contributes to technical reports and product summaries. Conducts mammalian cell line development experiments, including transfection, stable pool generation, selection, single-cell cloning, clone screening, and evaluation of cell growth and productivity. Provides direct support in maintenance of adherent and suspension cell cultures, media/feed/supplement preparation, cell banking and cryopreservation, and operation of bench-scale bioreactors Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of data requires an evaluation of various factors. Troubleshoot and solve problems associated with various types of R&D projects. Exhibits creativity in selecting approaches and techniques for obtaining solutions. Maintain an accurate lab notebook to support the protection of intellectual property following relevant Thermo Fisher required standards.

Requirements

(Must have): Bachelor’s degree (Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology/Biomedical engineering, or other related field) with 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing/lab environment Demonstrated proficiency in small-scale mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique Outstanding problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced research environment and deliver detailed results Requirements (Nice to have):

Minimum Qualifications

Familiarity with mammalian cell culture techniques, transfection, selection, cloning, and molecular biology methods used in cell line development. Solid understanding of data analysis and statistical software (e.g., JMP, GraphPad). Demonstrated ability to interpret complex datasets and make data-driven decisions. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Competence in research design, cell line development troubleshooting, and evaluating new techniques and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior industrial experience, particularly in cell line development, upstream process development and/or cell culture media formulation Experience with cell line development workflows and clone isolation/screening technologies (e.g., limiting dilution, single-cell dispensing, FACS, or imaging-based systems).
