About this role

The Opportunity 
 The Guided Weapons Production Capability (GWPC) Project is establishing a sovereign Australian capability to assemble and test the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS), certified by Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMC) and the US Government. As the capability continues to grow, the program will expand into the manufacture of additional weapon systems and support the development of Australia’s domestic guided weapons production capability. We have an opportunity for an experienced Mechatronic/Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in the evaluation, certification and technical governance of products and suppliers supporting the Guided Weapons and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) program. Working with Australian and US Defence stakeholders, LMC and industry partners, you will provide technical leadership across engineering, certification and production activities while helping position Australian suppliers to participate in the broader US supply chain.     Key Responsibilities 
 As the Mechatronic/Mechanical Engineer you will: Lead the planning, evaluation and certification of supplier products. Manage safety and certification activities, ensuring required documentation is developed and maintained. Provide overarching technical governance and ensure engineering solutions are fit for purpose through to production. Guide the development of the Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) technology strategy, supporting capability growth and future product development. Build strong technical and governance relationships with senior Australian Defence and LMC stakeholders. Lead technical issue resolution, proposal development and strategic engineering activities. Drive the engineering management of product evaluation activities across the GWEO program. Manage product evaluation baselines, working with CM/DM teams to maintain components, parts and assemblies within configuration management systems. Develop technical documentation and Technical Data Packs as required. Lead and participate in Technical Reviews and Trade Studies. Review technical deliverables, identifying deficiencies against requirements, compliance obligations and program objectives. Participate in workshops and reviews supporting production process design and capability development What you'll bring 
 Significant engineering experience, including leadership of complex technical processes and deliverables. Demonstrated ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines and engage effectively with a diverse range of subject matter experts. Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to operate in a complex Defence environment. Experience supporting RAAF, Navy or Army explosive ordnance or missile systems would be highly regarded. Knowledge of US Defence processes and ordnance development or manufacturing would be advantageous. A sound understanding of System Safety and its importance within complex systems. Knowledge of configuration management principles and experience with configuration management tools such as Windchill would be advantageous. Don't meet every requirement?
