Job Description
Work as part of a development team in the Systems Engineering department which includes support of requirement development, design and architecture generation, test, integration, and certification of complex systems installed on airborne platforms. Essential Functions: Design and develop physical architectures incorporating mission system equipment into airborne systems for military and commercial customers. These systems vary from program to program, so the ability to quickly learn and integrate new systems is critical. This requires a baseline understanding of electrical and mechanical systems. Translate customer and airworthiness requirements into unique verifiable system level requirements. Lead Program Integrated Product Teams of cross-disciplined engineers with internal and external members. Become a focal point for conversation with the customer on technical issues. Define requirement traceability methods. Perform the systems engineering trade study process. Evaluate trade studies for accuracy and completeness. Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements. Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system design. Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical professionals. Ability to use standard Microsoft Office suite of applications. Ability to operate within a Product Lifecycle Manager (PLM).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Physics, etc.) and minimum 4 years of relevant prior experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of work experience in a directly applicable field. Demonstrated expereince with systems engineering and integration. Preferred Additional Skills: Active Secret Clearance Experience with Boeing 747 aircraft Prior experience integrating mission systems on airborne platforms. DOORS or other requirement tracking tools experience Digital Databus Standards (ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553) experience Experience conducting first article verification testing Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills Experience working with subcontractors and US Government customers.
