Grade Level (for internal use): 09 The Role: Associate Price Reporter does price assessments and writes news and analysis about the agriculture and fertilizer markets. The role also involves conducting regular in-person/virtual market engagements with key market players (importers/exporters/traders/government bodies/trade associations/commerce ministry/customs departments/agriculture ministry). Responsibilities
The Associate Price Reporter is responsible for every aspect of price reporting. This includes talking to market participants from around the world in a highly international-facing role to gather market and pricing information and insights. They must research and write news articles and analysis on major market events. They must publish price assessments and commentary about the market and contribute to methodology development. Last but not the least, they must continuously engage with market participants (importers/exporters/traders/government bodies/trade associations/commerce ministry/customs departments/agriculture ministry). Required Qualifications
An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 1-3 years’ reporting/writing/analytical/editorial experience is desirable. Awareness of global commodity markets and economic principles Strong numeracy skills, including the ability to understand the basic principles of statistics and to apply basic math's functions in Excel Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of role types and personalities, internally and externally Self-starter mindset with effective problem-solving skills Ability to perform well under tight deadlines Excellent English communication skills Culturally and socially sensitive Preferred Qualifications: Experience or knowledge of the agriculture and fertilizer trading sector is highly desirable As the role requires extensive engagement with Asia market participants, fluency in relevant international languages (such as written Urdu, Thai, Burmese, Mandarin, other Asian languages) is a strong advantage.
