The YouTube Government Affairs and Public Policy (YT GAPP) team is dedicated to shaping the global regulatory and policy landscape to protect and advance YouTube’s business, creators, and users. Operating at the intersection of tech, policy, and society, our team works to proactively secure policy wins, defend liability protections, and build trust with key opinion formers (KOFs) worldwide. As strategic advisors, we partner closely with YouTube’s product, business, and executive leadership to help navigate complex geopolitical risks, execute go-to-market strategies, and drive meaningful external advocacy. Whether advocating for YouTube's innovation story, safeguarding open expression, or cultivating organizational health, YT GAPP plays a critical role in enabling YouTube's mission safely and sustainably. Google takes its responsibilities seriously, including engaging with government and other stakeholders on important public policy challenges. The Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team leads the company’s engagement with executive branch officials, legislators, regulators and third-parties in the formation of public policy. Working closely with Google leaders, GAPP seeks to identify key policy issues, listen carefully to others’ views and opinions, and distill and share the company’s perspective on those issues with external stakeholders. While we focus on challenges affecting the internet, our issue areas are increasingly broad and encompass many areas where public policy, business, and technology intersect. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Support YouTube’s Public Policy engagement in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) by serving as an ambassador for YouTube’s interests to policymakers and key opinion formers. Be a point of contact for the GAPP team on YouTube strategy, campaigns, and engagement in the Poland and CEE political sphere. Engage with YouTube leadership to develop public policy strategy, campaigns, and engagement within and across the region. Maintain deep knowledge of the application of YouTube content policies in sensitive categories and during elections across the region.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 7 years of experience working on technology policy issues within government, think tanks, public interest groups, or relevant industry associations. Experience with the government and policy landscape across the CEE region. Preferred qualifications: Experience guiding policy engagement with policymakers on issues relevant to YouTube’s business operations. Expertise in issues affecting YouTube’s business operations and interests in the political context of CEE. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Ability to operate in a fluid environment, and a strong track record of executing cross-functional projects.
