About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Valuation Control Analyst In this role, you will: Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives related to daily profit and loss production, attribution, and commentary for trading and banking desks Review and analyze valuation inputs, trade data, and reconciliation breaks to ensure accurate financial reporting and control Oversee independent price verification and fair value adjustments in collaboration with Risk and Valuation Control Perform daily and monthly balance sheet substantiation and ensure trade booking accuracy Independently resolve moderately complex valuation and reconciliation issues and contribute to control framework enhancements Provide financial insight into profitability, risk-adjusted returns, and capital usage to support business decisions Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers across Finance, Risk, and Front Office to resolve issues and achieve goals Identify and implement process improvements in reporting accuracy, control automation, and data governance and support regulatory reporting processes (e.g., Volcker, etc.) and maintain audit-ready documentation Lead projects, mentor less experienced analysts, and coordinate cross-functional initiatives within the product and valuation control function Expand understanding of systems and data flows across Front Office, Risk, and Finance to provide recommendations to fix issues at source Required Qualifications: 4+ years of product and valuation control experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Desired Qualifications
Bachelors/MBA in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics or Business or CFA/FRM/CQF Strong experience in one or a combination of the following: Valuations, analytics, financial modeling Prior work experience; knowledge of capital markets products Excellent verbal and written communication skills Advanced Microsoft Office skills Strong analytical skills. Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important. Prior working knowledge of one or more of the following: Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, SQL Experience in trading, valuing or price validating capital market instruments Previous experience with Model Risk Management practices including Model Governance and/or Model Validation The ability to effectively manage multiple projects with challenging timelines Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners Excellent communication skills; ability to clearly communicate with business partners, peers and senior management Strong conceptual and quantitative problem solving skills; ability to provide credible challenge The role is a derivative valuation specialist responsible for ensuring accurate valuations of and performing validation processes for capital markets products. The team is responsible for the application of consistent price validation policies throughout the corporate wide derivative and cash population including Equity, Credit, Interest Rate, FX, Commodity and CVA. The position requires an in-depth understanding of valuation techniques, models and valuation inputs. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and quantitative skill sets. Individual will be expected to assist with problem identification and solutions, and share best practices. This role will be required to frequently interact with senior management, business unit leaders, and other business partners. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated team player and a self-starter who is accustomed to working in complex organizations, partnering with a diverse group of stakeholders, and achieving results. The candidate should be flexible, be able to
