As a Software Automation Engineer at John Deere, based at our Research and Development Center in Indaiatuba/SP, you will contribute to the development, execution, and continuous improvement of automated test solutions for embedded software systems. Working closely with your supervisor and cross-functional teams, you will help ensure software quality, reduce manual testing efforts, and accelerate feedback loops to development teams. Main Responsabilities
Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts for embedded software platforms; Drive improvements in test coverage, execution efficiency, and defect detection; Collaborate with developers, systems engineers, and validation teams to define test strategies and acceptance criteria; Execute tests in SIL, HIL, MIL and/or VIL environments and analyze results to identify defects; Participate in code reviews and contribute to test framework enhancements; Document test plans and Test Cases, procedures, and results in compliance with internal quality standards based on Requirements; Support continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines with automated test integration; Mentor engineers and interns on automation best practices and tools. What Skills You Need
Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related field. Experience in Developing and Testing Embedded Software; Experience programming using different programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Matlab/Simulink; Experience with Git; Understanding of CAN/Ethernet protocols; Advanced English: broad vocabulary, good grammar, conducts meetings, argues, negotiates and provides training. Strong problem-solving and communication skills; Ability to lead initiatives and coach junior engineers. What Makes You Stand Out
Experience with PyTest, ECU-Test or similar tools; Knowledge of object-oriented programming; Knowledge of RTOS; Knowledge on Code Best Practices and Code Standards; Experience in Agroindustry and/or Automotive Industry; Experience with test-driven development and performance testing; Experience with Jenkins; AI applied to Software Engineering experience; ISTQB certification or equivalent; Basics Knowledge on J1939 and/or UDS. Experience in BUGs classification, analysis and fixing. Agile/Scrum methodology familiarity. Our Main Benefits
