THE JOB The Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Part- Time Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the upkeep, care, repairs, and maintenance of our historic venue. Under the direction of the Operations Manager & Assistant Manager this hands-on leader will ensure The Wiltern continues to be the premier LA venue destination for artists, management, fans, and crew. WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO Creates, reviews, executes, and delegates work orders. Leads a team of two ad-hoc tradespersons, contractors, as well as shared regional maintenance resources in the upkeep and care of one of LA’s most iconic and storied concert venues. Prioritizes repairs under various contexts including but not limited to life safety, operational needs, artist and fan experience, brand and sponsorship relevance, corporate initiatives, budget, available regional resources, etc. Develops and executes preventative maintenance activities inclusive of fire extinguishing equipment, kitchen equipment, refrigeration equipment, elevators and lifts, doors, chairs, tables, carpet cleaning and hardwood floor restorations, HVAC, Boilers, Air Handlers, Fans, etc. Scope to include both hands-on work and oversight/scheduling of contractors, as appropriate. Serves as the Wiltern Theatre’s direct representative to the Wiltern Center’s (high-rise) Engineering Department. With the Wiltern Center Management, requests Operating Engineers and Fire/Life Safety Officers. Conducts regular inspections of all elements of the physical plant, proactively planning for repairs, and maintaining the plant to established standards. Maintains adequate supply and inventory of consumables, tools, spare parts, etc. On occasion, serves as Manager on Duty for overnight venue changeovers, supervising a blended crew in the movement of tables, chairs, and equipment. On occasion, will be required at high-profile events for standby maintenance support. Other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Operations Manager, Assistant General Manager, or General Manager. WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING Documented five or more years working in a maintenance capacity in a theater, arena, hotel, or multi-family residential setting. Comfortable collaborating professionally with a diverse team of subject matter experts. Able to diffuse tensions and build bridges to deliver best-in-class service. General paint, patch, and drywall framing skills, a plus. Familiarity with Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office. Aptitude and willingness to learn various applications and CMMS software. Demonstratable ability to follow blueprints, interpret various mechanical drawings and carpentry plans, required. Comfortable regularly working at heights more than 25 feet, occasionally more than 85 feet during roof and rigging grid inspections, required.
