What We Are Looking For
This position will oversee all activities relating to land and right of way records management, standard contracts, and process improvement activities for the Kinder Morgan Land/Right of Way (ROW) department, which is responsible for all land activities across KM’s 4 business units.
What You Will Do
Supervise the input of essential land information into the company’s proprietary, electronic database system, ROWDMAP. Supervise the records management system(s), including maintaining a quality control program as part of the land records program. Supervise the periodic payment and third-party invoicing process. Coordinate all records management activities for company land and right-of-way assets. Coordinate records handling, retrieval, disposition and transmittal for company acquisitions and divestitures. Provide land records coordination of company's acquisitions and divestitures including data collection, exhibit drafting in coordination with ROW field agent/manager, inventory control, file transmittal, and storage. Responsible for the enforcement of land records policies relating to the various business unit activities. Develop and maintain data capture standards (both manual input and imaging) to meet industry and corporate reporting requirements. Monitor, track and analyze the quality of electronic land data capture. Provide leadership and guidance to a team of ROW Analysts Set expectations, coach employees, and drive accountability Drive and implement needed process improvements, including the associated management of change with all stakeholders and participants Develop workflow diagrams, mockups, and supporting materials to communicate expectations and guide technical teams. Ability to solve complex problems and provide solutions-oriented analysis Must have strong analytical, problem solving, research and reconciliation skills needed to resolve unknown or unforeseen events Complete special projects and other duties as assigned What You Need Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree 5+ years of database management and/or process improvement documentation preparation 7+ years of Oil / Gas / Energy experience Excellent oral / written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels in the organization Leading people, projects, or having previous mentoring/training experience High degree of initiative and ability to perform responsibilities with minimal supervision Proven track record of working with multiple layers of management to perform multifaceted financial forecasting and analysis Effectively communicate results of any analysis in an accurate, clear and concise manner Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge: Managerial / Supervisory Experience Experience with ROWDMAP or other land records database systems Ability to interpret and map legal descriptions Proficiency with GIS data and ability to navigate standard software Advanced Excel skill set Familiarity with business process modeling tools (e.g., Visio) Experience supporting IT development teams or participating in UAT Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) Why Join Kinder Morgan Kinder Morgan is a large energy infrastructure company operating in North America.
