We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer specialising in iOS to join the CNN Connected TV Engineering team. As a senior individual contributor, you will work with a high level of autonomy, take ownership of complex technical challenges, and help shape the team’s technical direction. You will support Principal Engineers and Architects in defining and implementing the technology strategy, while providing guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers. You will be versatile, curious and eager to solve new problems within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. In this role, you will contribute to the technical strategy, architecture and engineering best practices for CNN’s Connected TV applications, with a particular focus on Apple TV and the wider Apple ecosystem. You will help guide decisions on tools, technologies, testing automation and CI/CD practices, ensuring the effective technical delivery and release of high-quality Connected TV experiences to CNN audiences. You will partner closely with Product, Design and Delivery leaders to translate product initiatives into scalable technical solutions and support strong operational execution across the team.

Accountabilities... As the Senior Software Engineer, you will work within a collaborative engineering team to deliver high-quality, customer-facing features across CNN’s tvOS applications. You will take ownership of complex technical work, ensuring features are delivered effectively and meet the team’s engineering and quality standards. Working closely with fellow engineers, your manager and cross-functional partners, you will contribute to sprint planning and help prioritise the delivery of new features, architectural improvements and bug fixes. To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong understanding of iOS and tvOS development, together with extensive experience of test-driven development. You will be confident using industry-standard software development tools and practices, including IDEs, build and continuous integration systems, source control and code review tools. You will have experience building, testing and releasing production-quality software within a professional engineering environment. You will document your technical contributions clearly and help evolve the team’s engineering standards and best practices. This is an opportunity to lead key initiatives, contribute to the architecture of a high-performance streaming application and collaborate with engineers across multiple locations to deliver critical projects. You will also support the development of the wider team by mentoring and coaching less experienced engineers. Qualifications and Experience... 5+ years of programming experience using Swift or other similar language. Experience building consumer apps is a must.   Knowledge of or previous experience with VOD
