Job Summary
The Plumber performs installation, inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of potable-water distribution, sanitary sewer, plumbing, and associated utility systems supporting Incirlik Air Base. The position maintains plumbing infrastructure and fixtures in facilities across the installation and supports exterior water-distribution and sewage-collection systems. Assigned equipment may include water and sewer piping, valves, pumps, plumbing fixtures, backflow-prevention devices, fire hydrants, water heaters, pressure-control devices, drains, septic systems, grease traps, and related real-property-installed equipment. The Plumber responds to routine and emergency service calls, identifies system deficiencies, controls leaks and overflows, restores affected utilities, and documents work in the government-designated maintenance management system. Work must comply with applicable Air Force requirements, Unified Facilities Criteria, the Uniform Plumbing Code, host-nation requirements, environmental standards, manufacturer instructions, and approved work-order procedures. Roles and Responsibilities Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, replace, and overhaul plumbing systems and associated components. Diagnose leaks, low pressure, blockages, failed valves, damaged fixtures, drainage problems, pump failures, and other plumbing deficiencies. Inspect and repair water mains, service lines, distribution piping, valves, pumps, and associated system components. Locate and isolate water leaks to protect personnel, facilities, government property, and mission operations. Repair or replace damaged pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, supports, insulation, and related components. Clear blocked drains, waste lines, sewer laterals, and other assigned drainage systems using approved methods. Inspect, maintain, repair, replace, and test backflow-prevention devices when qualified and assigned. Restore affected systems to a safe and serviceable condition following maintenance. Ensure installed materials and repair methods are compatible with the existing system and approved for the intended application. Inspect, maintain, repair, and test fire hydrants and associated water-supply components as assigned. Support maintenance and operation of sewage lift stations when assigned and properly qualified. Assist with inspections and maintenance of septic tanks, grease traps, and associated piping. Coordinate waste removal and disposal with the wastewater treatment and environmental teams. Follow approved drawings, technical manuals, manufacturer instructions, and applicable plumbing standards. Respond to scheduled, urgent, and emergency plumbing service calls according to assigned work priorities. Provide after-hours emergency support when scheduled or directed. Coordinate with electricians, HVAC technicians, structural personnel, water-plant operators, wastewater personnel, and Fire Emergency Services when work crosses functional boundaries. Check hydrants for leaks, physical damage, corrosion, drainage problems, accessibility, and proper operation. Physical requirements include lifting up to 23 kilos, climbing ladders, working on roofs, extended sitting or standing, and working in normal and adverse weather conditions.
